On This Last Evening Of 2009
mi vida estupida|I’m not quite sure where the last week and a half went (or most of 2009, for that matter). It’s been a blur of Christmas Eve, Christmas, post-Christmas get-togethers, dinners with friends, and more sweets than I can recall ever consuming in my life. In fact, I have a slight belly ache right now.
I also tried my hand (or hands and arms) at a batting cage for the first time ever. Must have swung at least 100 times and now, 2 days later, I have a variety of sore muscles. In fact, I’ve discovered muscles I never knew existed because I’d never used them before. Hopefully the sore back and jello arms will go away soon. In the meantime, I can’t enter any arm-wrestling contests this week.
Yesterday I went to Philadelphia for an overnight trip - highlights of which included the Rodin Museum, Edgar Allan Poe’s house, dinner with friends at a cool diner called Silk City, and racing up the stairs of the art museum like Rocky. The only bad part of the trip was that my camera battery died after about six photos and I hadn’t thought to bring a spare.
As corny as it may be, I had wanted to do a sort of blakspring-specific year-in-review. Uumm, not gonna happen tonight. Hopefully I’ll feel like doing it before it becomes pointless.
To all my beautiful blogosphere peeps - Have a Happy and Healthy 2010. I wish you lots of laughter and friendship and travel adventures. And if you don’t travel, then I hope you start in 2010. Peace.

Yippie for the batting cage! I haven’t played softball in forever. And, if you ever get to an adult league softball game, you will realize that muscles are not a huge requirement for the sport.

Happy new year, lady! One of my (unspoken and just thought-of) goals for 2010 is more trips to NYC.

dene - no, was i supposed to? it was really tiny with a few showpieces, and the actual house was open to walk around in.
jules - i need a vacation from my vacation
tcd - i’ve been playing in a summer league with some of the teachers and students/graduates. yeah, big difference when you only swing a handful of times in a game or two
npw - yay! i got a futon with your name on it.

Happy New Year to you as well. As for the year just past, I think the last three words of my post on the subject pretty much summed up my feeling on the matter.
I do, however, look forward to your review!
